This video highlights the Liberty XLE family of explosion proof submersible sewage pumps. Explosion proof sewage pumps are designed specifically to move wastewater in hazardous locations where flammable gases or vapors exist in the surrounding air. Chemical plants, factories, and refineries often use explosion-proof pumps.

Hazardous locations are defined by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the National Electric Code (NEC) and are subdivided into various classes, divisions, groups, and zones.

Both the XLE50 and XLE70 series pumps have the same hazardous location designations.
