Pump Products is offering customers a pass on long lead-times for delivery of BJM shredder pumps as BJM works to meet customer demand.

BJM shredder pumps are designed for commercial and industrial sewage ejector applications prone to clogging due to improper disposal of consumer waste. Because they can easily grind down items ranging from cell phones to sneakers they are heavily used in hotels, large retail stores, industrial parks and other crowd-prone locations where downtime can be a source of considerable expense.
A lag in the manufacturing of these pumps behind the demand for them has resulted in protracted lead times across BJM's shredder pump distribution network.
"When BJM's lead times went from two weeks to two-plus months, most distributors were stuck," says Product Expert Fred Hettinger. "People started looking for these pumps and nobody had them. "
Most vendors order BJM's large industrial shredder pumps from the manufacturer according to need, on a per-customer basis. But Pump Products sells sells the pumps regularly and maintains a permanent stock.
"These pumps are for the commercial and industrial market and they are costly to stock," says General Manager Ed Drejman. "But this has become a very strong line within our commercial and high occupancy dwelling market so we are among the few distributors with a robust inventory. We currently have shredder pumps in 2, 3 & 5 HP. If someone were to order them now, they would get them in 1-3 days. Otherwise, they're looking at two-month lead times. "
A steady stream of real-life examples of BJM shredders providing solutions in challenging applications where ordinary sewage ejector models fall short has been the foundation for Pump Products' deep inventory.
